Frequently Asked Questions

What will happen at my first appointment?

Your initial consultation will last one hour, and we’ll request that you complete some blood work before your appointment. During the visit, you’ll meet with your provider to discuss how you’ve been feeling and the reasons for seeking care. Based on your blood work results and the description of your symptoms, you’ll receive a personalized treatment recommendation.

What if I don’t know anything about bio-identical hormones? Will my questions be answered?

This is a concierge-style practice, so YES! We’re here to answer all your questions during your initial consultation. The office also conducts an orientation monthly for patients interested in learning more. During the orientation, a provider will explain what bio-identical hormones are, why they’re medically necessary, and how they enhance longevity and quality of life.

What happens if I don't get my follow-up blood work done?

During the first year, we highly recommend completing the prescribed follow-up blood work between hormone prescriptions. These results are essential for your provider to accurately manage and adjust your dosing. Without updated blood work, your results may not be as optimal as they could be.

The best part about our practice is that we can arrange for a phlebotomist to go to your home for your blood draw and the follow-up results can be conducted via Zoom.

How often is blood work needed?

Initial Blood work is usually conducted prior to your initial consultation and follow-up blood work can be done 10 weeks later. After your 10-week follow-up visit, if everything is progressing as expected blood work will be recommended 5-6 months later. After your first year, your blood work can be done twice a year.

When will I see results?

Treatment results can vary among individuals. Some patients may begin to notice symptom improvement within 3-4 weeks, while for others, it may take up to 6 weeks.

Are there any side effects?

Hormone replacement therapy naturally restores your hormone levels and is generally free of negative side effects. However, some patients may experience sensitivities as their levels are being replenished. This is why it’s important to work with a provider who specializes in hormone replacement therapy to ensure personalized care and optimal results.

How can I get my refills?

To request a refill for your medication, please email your provider directly. We kindly ask that you allow up to two business days for us to process and respond to your request.

What if the hormones don't seem to be working? Am I not a good candidate for bio-identical hormone replacement therapy?

There is no medical reason why you wouldn’t be a suitable candidate for bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT). Hormones are naturally produced in your body and are essential for maintaining overall health and wellness, making you an excellent candidate. If you’re not experiencing the desired improvements with your hormone therapy, we encourage you to contact our office and speak with your provider. Every individual is unique, and hormones are metabolized differently from person to person. There could be various factors affecting the effectiveness of the therapy, and together we can identify and address them to help you achieve optimal results.

Can you write a prescription, and can I fill it at the pharmacy?

We collaborate with select 503A compounding pharmacies and trusted local pharmacies. Extensive research has been conducted on these pharmacies, and our provider has personally visited their facilities to ensure that our patients receive only the highest quality products. This meticulous approach reflects our commitment to your health and well-being.

Can I use my insurance?

Yes, absolutely! You can use your insurance to cover all the blood work prescribed by the doctor. We use select laboratories who will never send anything balance bill.

What’s our approach to treatment?

Our approach focuses on treating the individual, not just the numbers. While blood work provides valuable insights, your treatment plan will primarily be guided by your health goal and how you describe your symptoms. We encourage complete openness during this process. If you choose to begin treatment, you’ll have the option to start on the same day.
